I was wondering why the playground and pool areas were deserted during the day.  I have learned that children here start school at the very young age of about 2 years.  Most children although have to wake up early to go to school, stay up late as well.  I've heard children in the hallways as late as 11:30pm.  Go figure?? Not quite sure how they cope and I'm not really interested in adopting this schedule.  This has made it very difficult to meet friends for Issaac and myself.  I am yet to have a full conversation with anyone other then Adam and his friends Guy and Irah, who came for a short visit from Philippines.  We are looking for a program to enroll Issaac in, possibly gymnastics, music, play group and or part time preschool.
Well the preschool is out of the question, at the Canadian International School it would cost about $17,000 for the year and the company doesn't cover it.  I tried a local preschool and that was $360.00 a month and no foreign children.   So the search continues, next to research is extra curricular activities like gym and sports.
Not too much new with us this week.  Sam is walking better everyday and Issaac, pretty much same, same!!   Although, over the past week or so I have noticed that Issaac has decided to try mixing up his food flavors for example; broccoli and ketchup, pineapple dipped in peanut butter, all kinds of fruit in yogurt (which really isn't bad), apples on ritz crackers and strawberries on his cinnamon toast.   He thinks it's funny and will also name them like ketchup broccoli, pineapple peanut butter and apple ritz.

I purchased a vacuum which got delivered earlier this week and it's got most of its use from Issaac and Sam.  Not a good thing because we've got friends coming to stay this week.  EEK!!  I've got some cleaning to do..LOL

After the past few months of inexpensive (but great) hawker food I was in the mood for a nice steak dinner.  We went to a place downtown, which was pretty nice and very expensive.   I had some surf n turf and Adam had his fave prime rib.  The kids were great, both Adam and I had hot food for a change.  It was a yummy treat.
We have finally met some people that I think will be friends.  Adam was on his way to work one night for OT and noticed a couple walking in our complex with two boys just about Issaac and Sam's age, so he stopped and talked to them.  Kevin (dad), Jana (mom), Jacob (3Ży) and Elijah (1Ży).  This morning we met up with them at the park and had some lunch together.  It rained almost the whole time and when we were ready to go home we had to suck it up and walk home in the down pour.  We were soaked to the bone by the time we got home, but all in all great fun!! We had some nice conversation and the best part was Issaac and Jake had a blast playing together.  We've invited them over for dinner one night this week so I'll look forward to seeing them together again.

Til next week.........
