I drew the short stick for this part of the drive and I was selected to weave our car along the huge cliffs along PCH while Mike got to sit back and enjoy the view.

The drive was pretty intense. I gripped the steering wheel like a hawk on prey. I pulled my seat a little closer to the steering wheel. And then I cranked up the techno music to get that video game feel.

I drove 300 miles on day two and we only got down 1/3 of the way down the coast. (Mike drove about 500 miles from Irvine to our first stop). The winding road piled on the miles.

We stopped frequently to take photos and just soak in the views. Other tourists were doing the same. As sunset approached, the roads were soon deserted as people staked out spots along the highway to photograph the event.

Mike and I took advantage of the open road and raced on the highway. A few things ran through my mind during the drive.

"The lines are your friends. Stay in the lines."

"Why are there guard rails on some turns, but not on others."

"How fast can I go around this turn?"

Mike had other thoughts.

"Dude, what are you doing!?"

"If I die because we fly off of this cliff, that's gonna suck."

We wanted to get to a beach waterfall before sundown to enjoy the view. We also had no idea on where we were going to camp for the night. Hopefully we could find a campground before it gets too late.
