I have only one word to describe this part of the world: BREATHTAKING!

I have always heard how beautiful the eastern seaboard of Canada is, and I had the opportunity to travel here to attend the wedding of two dear friends. What a beautiful choice for a wedding, and their outdoor ceremony, reception in a barn and the surrounding events were just that!

The wedding took place in Shobac, Nova Scotia. There are a number of villages around the area so a friend of mine made arrangements for us to stay in the little town of Mahone Bay. The Edgewater Bed and Breakfast was an adorable property and the couple who own the place are an absolute delight. Paul and Susan were wonderful hosts. Each morning they prepared a homemade breakfast (delicious) and each evening Paul plays music for the fish (unfortunately we didn't get to hear this as we were out all three evenings).

The view, as said, was breathtaking and the location incredibly peaceful. A perfect getaway destination. If you ever make your way up there and are looking for a place to stay, I highly recommend the Edgewater B&B. Thanks to DF for making the arrangements!

Before heading home on Saturday, we stopped by Peggy's Cove, a small fishing village with a population of less than 50. It is a tourist destination and a km away is the memorial of Swiss Flight 111 which crashed there in 1998.

Thank you to my dear friends H&R for including me in their celebration and allowing me the chance to visit this beautiful destination.

I do hope to return here one day...
