We arrived at our destination in Texas by evening where temperatures are in the low 100's. They say "it's a dry heat", but I don't see how that matters. It's hot!!
We began the day in Lafayette where we went to Vermillion Ville, a historical village. The 19 buildings depicted early life in Southern Louisiana for the Native American, Cajun and Creole people who lived there. Several of the buildings and homes had guides, and we were able to listen to live Cajun/Creole music and hear more about the history of the area. After our time there, we climbed in the car for the next leg of our journey.
