Good news...Chuck with Roberts Marine Service (Cummins dealer) showed up today and after four hours of working on installing the new manifold, ensuring nothing else was affected and testing the engine, pronounced Naciente good to go. So...all systems go for an early departure tomorrow morning early...keep your fingers crossed. The weather is supposed to be great with 1 - 2 foot seas and no rain anywhere...yippee!
We will long remember our adventures in Steinhatchee...a great place to be if you love to fish, love to fish, love to fish...You know you are getting bored when I fall for Tom's practical jokes...today Bev and I went walking. When I returned Tom had cleaned the outside windows of the boat. He then challenged me to a $5 bet that I couldn't get the inside ones cleaner than his outside job. Never one to back away from a challenge, I took it and feverishly worked on the windows until they sparkled. When I was done, he conceded that my job indeed was better than his. I grabbed the $5 and gloated away. A few hours later I noticed $5 missing from my wallet, and that is when he fessed up that he had taken the original $5 from my wallet, which had been laying open on the table! ...time to go...paybacks, as I told him...are hell...
Took the dinghy to lunch at Roy's today and then Chuck came by. My friend Walt came by to introduce me to his family, a delightful little skipper key dog (sp?) named Tasmania...Tas for short. Said all our good byes...Nina the fish lady, Charlie the owner, Walt my buddy, John the Captain who gave me the CD, Libby and Susie the marina vixens, the happy hour crowd and Ortega the maintenance guy at the marina... More tomorrow....hopefully from Carabelle. More thumbnails ...
