I have had some not so good birthdays in the past but I have to admit that spending the first 20 hours (of a total journey of 23 hours) of it on a bus comes close to being the least interesting! Well, I can now say that I´ve spent almost one whole day on a bus. Not that that is a very exciting achievement, but it is an achievement none the less. In fact (and this is very interesting) on another of my bus journeys I calculated that I spent 65 hours on buses in 1 week.

Anyway, riveted as you must be by those amazing facts (and I would be happy to answer any bus related queries by private email), I spent the rest of my birthday alone, watching the Argentina / Brazil football match and staying at a hotel that was not quite as good as the travel book had made out.

But, at least I´m travelling in South America and not back at home working for a living!!
