On the bus and somehow i manage to sit next too another person being sick (sick boy) josh was not ill once but the whole trip (i know i don't sound very sympathetic but i promise i started that way but after hours of vomit my sympathy redirected to my own suffering).
After the bottle shop (or maybe before i don't remember) we stopped on the hill with the peace tents (Haas Promendade?) to eat our "lunch boxes", this being our first encounter with the pink turkey and other wonders found inside the box - so glad to be a vegi! And we also said a prayer, and ate challah.
Back on the bus we head for the Caesar our somewhat unfortunate place of stay for the majority of our trip. I met my roommates Emily and Aviva and we showered and went down to the lobby to light candles. Afterwards we headed to the western wall for the first time and experienced a kabbalat shabbat there. And what an experience it was. Surrounded by women singing and praying even though it was much colder than any of us expected i didn't feel the cold until i exited the part partitioned for the wall.
In fact I was somewhat overcome with emotion upon my first visit there and barely held back my tears as i placed my prayer in the wall and said a silent thank you to all the previous generations who had sacrificed for me to be here.
Afterwards we walked back in the chilly night air to the hotel, our first night and shabbat in israel to be celebrated with drinks in the lobby. This night also marked our first experience of the Rabbie talking philosophy and joining in the fun, best Rabbie ever! I don't think I have ever met someone as excited to talk about life with a bunch of drunk kids!
