Got up at 12:34 p.m. Went up to read outside at Spice H2O, then grabbed lunch form the buffet at 2:00. After lunch I sat by the pools and read. Craig met me and we spent some time going down the green and purple waterslides.
Ian met up with us and was kind enough to sneak Craig and I into the Mandara Spa (Ian purchased a membership for the cruise). The spa includes a hydrotherapy pool with massage jets, a hot tub, hot sauna, warm sauna, and another hot room called "aromatherapy" or something like this
We sailed into a small storm while Ian, Craig, and I were in the spa. It was raining when Craig and I left the spa and returned to the pool deck. The green and purple waterslides were still open; Craig and I took a few last runs before they were closed due to the inclement weather. Craig and I then soaked in the hot tub for awhile before heading downstairs.
Returned to my cabin at 5:54 to shower. Went upstairs to the Garden Café at 6:38 to blog and sort photos, then back to my cabin at 7:58. From there I went downstairs to Shakers bar to meet friends. Jason had offered to take some of us on a tour of The Haven, the exclusive suites area on Decks 16 and 17. Jason’s friend Marcus, a German, was staying in a two-bedroom suite on Deck 16. Marcus came with Jason, Chad, Craig, Jon, and I. We got to see The Haven’s private courtyard with pool and hot tub, then hung out in Marcus’ suite for a few minutes.
Next we checked out the bar area and then the Epic Club, the lounge and restaurant reserved for the exclusive use of Haven guests
The menu at Epic Club was short but offered several appealing dishes. For my first appetizer, I ate shrimp baked in garlic butter. Delicious! My second course was shrimp cakes, then for the third course I had an Asian chicken salad. My main entrée was the “seafood extravaganza,” pasta with lobster tail, white fish, and mixed seafood. Yummy! For dessert, I ate the “taste of chocolate” sampler. It was a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience.
Jason took Craig and I out to Posh Beach Club after dinner so Craig could take a peak there, then we headed downstairs to Jason’s rear balcony cabin. Jason changed into his outfit for the White Hot Party, then we stopped by my cabin to grab some cocktails. From there we headed up to Spice H20 about 11:30. The White Hot Party went on until about 2:20 a.m. and was super fun. A rich fat Swedish man kept buying bottles of champagne and Absolut vodka, and he shared them with everyone in the vicinity. It was so fabulous to dance outside while sailing along in the Atlantic Ocean toward the Bahamas. Thankfully the rain had stopped a few hours prior to the party, so we had great weather and kept the White Hot Party outdoors as scheduled
After the music stopped at Spice H2O, the party continued downstairs at Bliss nightclub. The Swedish man kept buying more bottles of liquor and toasting with anyone who wanted to share. We partied until the lights came on about 4:20 a.m.
From there, those of us who were still standing followed Ian to O’Sheehan’s Irish pub, the 24-hour restaurant on board Norwegian Epic. But we found out the kitchen is closed for cleaning from 4 to 5:30 a.m., so all that was available was a ham sandwich served in a plastic container. Wow, super lame. Fortunately I wasn’t hungry; only Ian ordered the ham sandwich.
I made it back to my cabin at 4:56 a.m. and immediately headed to bed at 5:03. I wasn’t expecting it to be such a late night, but had a great time!
