Hey All!

So I decided to do the blog thing so I wouldn't have to upload a bunch of photos in an e-mail! Some of the photos are of my apartment and little things in Torino that I have seen so far. There is so much to do in Torino that it's nice to come home to a little apartment and hang out, cook and watch the people below our apartment. There are also some photos of the fun nightlife down by the strip of clubs also known as the boardwalk. Funny I know! Fortunately we haven't run into any of the "creepy" Italian men just some really respectful, nice ones. We have discovered that the drinks here are a lot more expensive. A strawberry daiquiri costs about 6 Euros which is equivalent to about 8 bucks. Some of the other pictures are from Florence and Pisa where I went this weekend. We had a really interesting time and saw the statue of David, the Duomo and so much more. We learned that some of the vendors in Florence and Pisa don't pay taxes so if you buy something from them and get caught by the police you can actually go to jail. Here in Italy you must always get your receipt because the police can follow you in order to make sure that the store is keeping track of what they sell for tax purposes and that you are paying legally. We stayed in a youth hostel that actually was a little on the bad side, but it was a place to sleep and place to keep our stuff.

I took some of the cheesy Leaning Tower pictures, and experienced almost getting pick pocketed on the bus back to the train station. Which reminds me we got on the wrong train going back to Torino and ended up having to pay about 40 more euros in order to stay on the train, but on the way into Torino we saw the ice rink from the Olympics which was amazing! On the way back home I discovered the true meaning of Italy being romantic as this old man told me that he loved me as he was getting of the bus. I use a lot of public transportation obviously because I don't have a car, but also because the bus system here is extremly cheap and efficient. Just about everyone takes the buses here, but the routes change often and take you to the wrong stop. This I discovered from experience. I hope you all are doing well and if you have any questions let me know!
