Today, Rachel and I packed up our campsite and drove to Slide Rock State Park. Slide Rock sits within red canyon walls with a river running down the middle. It is called Slide Rock because visitors will slide down the slick rocks in the river during the hot summer months. Rachel and I spent most of the day there reading and jumping from rock to rock in the river. After our visit, we drove to Flagstaff to meet our new couch surfing hosts, Jenny and Conner. They are really nice people and we look forward to spending time with them over the next couple of days.
Rachel and I spent the last 2 days in Flagstaff couch surfing with Conner and Jenny. Here is a recap of what we did.
-Rachel attended a "Hot Yoga" session where they crank up the heat during the practice. She sweated profusely and felt nauseous the rest of the day!
-We met a lot of our hosts' friends at a bar and made friends with some of them. One of our new friends, Sarah, gave us two free indoor rock climbing passes. We climbed that night until our fingers would not hold us up any longer.
-During the day, we cross country skied.
-We ate free food at a "Food Not Bombs" get together. (More info under "Links")
