Katy, Anita and I decided to have a little drive to the coast... Down to Blackpool.

In what is often regarded as its heyday (1900-1950), Blackpool thrived as the factory workers of northern England took their annual holidays there en masse. They were attracted by the horrid plasticity of the fairground out on the central pier... the most fun a child back then could have i guess...
That soon changed as the cheap airlines in the sixties drew most of the tourists to the Meditterranean beaches and resorts...
You can't blame them really...
Blackpool's a shit-hole!

It was such nice day as we drove down towards the coast... but as soon as we arrived in the town we were hit with the coastal winds and then the grey clouds rolled in...
"Nice day for a picnic on the beach wouldn't you say Deirdre?"

We soon were hungry and decided to treat ourselves to some good ol' Fish'n'Chips... That wonderful, fatty, tasteless, greasy English meal that we so love and revere...

Have you got no motivation for life? no ambitions?
Well here's something just for you!!!
You could learn how to make fish'n'chips!
At a special school!

Check it out: ngsgate_seafood_training_school.htm

The fish shop was empty... and the guy behind the counter gave us the soggy chips that had probably been sitting there since they opened... 5 years ago.

We walked along in the drizzle(horrid type of rain), along the beach and then up past all of the McDonald's street lights, which were strung up over the road(desperate times for desperate measures) and found a Blackpool rock candy shop...

Rock candy is probably the reason why so many of the older generations have no teeth... It's hard and quite similar to the candy cane's you might get at Christmas time...
We bought ourselves some of that crap, ate it and proceeded to feel sick...

We left Blackpool and Manchester beginning to feel dissappointed with England...

"No. I'm not."
