Hi all: Am in internet cafe, so no pictures for now. Today the sun is shining here in Lviv. We went to church this morning at the Cathedral. It was a very moving service. The church was full with far more people standing than sitting. The sun was coming in from the rear of the church lighting up the iconostas and the gold leaf in the church. The singing was divine, especially the male voices. (After the service we were told that some opera singers are in the choir).
We were going to drive to the Carpathians today, however Katrina was not well, so Keith, Khrystia and I went for a walk downtown. Khrystia got a ride on a horse, and Keith ended up playing two chess games against men who were playing in the park. (He won his first and drew his second).
We went to Ternopol two days ago over the worst road I have ever driven on (thank goodness I wasn't driving). We saw our foster child Taras in his home in a small village outside Ternopol. His home has no running water. He sleeps in the same room with his grandmother and older sister. They have chickens, turkeys, goats, and a cat and a dog. (Khrystia got to hold the goat).
Hopefully pictures later.
