So I woke up early yesterday morning, and whilst I was still relatively hacked off (and I don't hold grudges) I decided my mission was to get as far up from downtown as I could. I was actually quite curious though because Austin, in his haste to make things right, had cancelled my accommodation with Hotwire.com for last night and I had been refunded by them which meant I actually didn't have a place to stay. I was interested to see how Austin was going to sort that out, but quite frankly, I didn't want to hang around there longer than I had to - so I made another booking (for less than I was refunded) at The Holiday Inn in Lake Buena Vista - off International Drive
$44 later on a taxi and I was at the Holiday Inn, had bought my Disney Day Pass ($135), dropped my bags in the room and hopped onto the shuttle bound for The Magic Kingdom - all by 9:30am. The bus drops you at the monorail station and there you can catch the monorail to either The Magic Kingdom or to Epcot Centre. I had decided to head to the Magic Kingdom first as that was the furtherest park in Disney World, and then I would make my way from there to the other parks. That's how one thinks when one has no concept of how vast and crowded and far apart these parks are. Nevertheless, at this point I had just arrived at the Magic Kingdom and I was so excited. The place where dreams really do come true? The only wish I had then was that Brittany was with me and that we had a week here together. That would've been my dream come true. So I will need to work on that one some more.
Seeing the Magic Castle up close is just amazing and then I was also just in time for The Mickey Mouse Show. I so badly wanted to take a death-defying roller coaster ride so I headed to Tomorrow Land. It was now about 11:00am and they have these machines that give you a Fast Pass ticket - as opposed to Stand By where you queue and wait. So I stuck my ticket in the machine and whipped my Fast Pass out - Please report back to this ride between 3:00 - 4:00pm. Four Frikken Hours on a Fast Pass? You gotta be kidding me? So I took a ride on The People Mover which is this ride that takes you round Tomorrow Land and through Space Mountain but you don't get to see much other than where everything is situated
I was just not having any luck with the rides. I wanted to go in Thunder Mountain and thought I'd try the Fast Pass ticket system again. Except it wouldn't issue me a valid Fast Pass because I already had one issued and until that one had been used, I couldn't get another one. So basically I had to wait for 3-4 hours. I decided not to wait. It was now around 2pm and I had participated in the Disney Street Party where all your favourites sing and dance in the street. So my last trip around was on the steam train and I then decided to head to Epcot Centre.
