From the time I left my hotel in Lima, Peru, to the time I walked into my house in Melbourne, Australia, 36 hours passed. (I left 9pm Sunday and got in midnight Tuesday. Apparently there was a Monday in there somewhere). My journey started with my flight from Lima to Buenos Aires, Argentina. During that whole flight I had a lot of leg pain, my little sciatic nerve was having a party! I had a five hour stopover where I slept on airport seats twice, ate, drank, updated Travelpod and Facebook and read my book. I was really dizzy and had to equalize my ears to settle it. Then I had a 15 hour flight to Sydney. There was a vacant seat next to me so the other lady and myself got to stretch out a little bit. The movies I watched aren't worth mentioning. Once I got to Sydney I thought I was on the home straight, but my flight to Melbourne was delayed twice!! I couldn't wait to see Pete and after an excruciatingly long wait I eventually got to be in his arms, Yay
Wow! What a wonderful holiday. I loved it all. I could definitely go back to South America. I achieved my dreams of attending Rio's Carnivale, hang-gliding, completing the Inca Trail and seeing Machu Picchu. The bonus experiences were seeing the wonder of the Iguazu falls, snorkelling a fresh water stream, horse-riding the Andes, exploring a silver mine, losing my shit about the Salt Flats of Uyuni, climbing a mountain into the dangerous altitude zone, enjoying a homestay with a Peruvian family, swimming with sea lions and so much more! Did I mention how good the food was!!! The locals were wonderful, the people I travelled with were cool and the country was just so amazing. I took over 3000 photos. I have picked out some favourites and some relevant ones to share with you all. Unfortunately the downloaded quality is not very good at all but I am happy to share any good quality photo anyone might like. Enjoy the videos aswell because they can give so much more than the photos, especially the falls ones. I hope you have enjoyed my blog. Thanks for reading it! Cheers.
