We met Karina, our gorgeous Bolivian guide at the border.  Because it took so long to get out of the Pentanal wetlands, we missed our train, and the plane so we had to take the overnight bus.   First we were hungry so we grabbed some fried chicken with rice and noodles........... for $2!  Sweet! In the bus we got to watch the movie "Unstoppable".  We arrived in Santa Cruz at 6am.  After a little nap we met for breakfast with Karina and her cousin.  The took us to a place where we tried the local breakfast pastries which are filled with stew, along with one olive, one raisin and one quail egg.  Really tasty.  Then we did a city tour, taking in a market, the cathedral, the town square and then to some shopping arcades.  I decided to try to source a lens cap for my camera (because mine fell into a black hole in one of the mini buses) so Karina arranged a taxi to take me and bring me back from the electronics market.  I soon worked out that no-one in Bolivia would even buy my camera model because only cheaper basic cameras were available in the shops.  No-one had any accessories so I was unsuccessful. I have the cloth over the lens with a hair band! In the evening we all went out to a traditional Bolivian restaurant for dinner.  I am quite amazed at how cheap and delicious the food is here.  And booze is cheap too!!! Yay!!
