Brisbane is a really laid back and pretty city. While there we got a train to Australia Zoo to see what all the fuss was about and it was definitely worth the look. The animals were really well looked after and we easily spent a day walking around all the enclosures. We got a glimpse of the Glasshouse Mountains an the way there and back also.
As Castlemaine XXXX Bitter was Stephen's east coast tipple of choice we couldn't pass through Brisbane without doing the XXXX brewery tour! The tour was great and at the end everyone got glasses of four different beers of their choice brewed on site. The next day we went to an aboriginal workshop to choose and paint our own boomerangs. This was also included in the tickets we bought for the Whitsundays and Fraser Island tours and we thought we'd put our artistic talents to the test!
Off to Byron Bay now for some hippy-watching :) More thumbnails ...
