Tranquility and food Poisoning in Pai

Pai is a little mecca in northern Thailand that everyone should visit. We were only there for 2 days (and both managed to get food poisoning there) but it's a great little spot and a nice place to relax for a few days when you've been travelling non-stop. Saw a fantastic violinist from England who jumped around the place in his bare feet while he played but never missed a note. He drew a crowd into the bar and also onto the street outside, brilliant :)
Went to a nice restaurant for our 8th anniversary and drank a little bit too much wine, then met up with Brian from Alaska for a few beers. When we went back to Paiburee bungalows we got a strange burning smell in the middle of the night. We went outside and saw smoke coming from the dry grass beside our bungalow. No idea how it started but it looked like a bonfire that had lit up again. We ran out and knocked on Brian's door to get up and then we threw a few buckets of water over the grass to put out the fire. After that we were wide awake so we lay out on the futons out the front and never saw so many shooting stars! fantastic...
