01.05.09: We are tired this morning again. Must be the travelers fatigue hitting back!! We stopped for gas on the way to Canberra and took the wrong way back. For 30km, we didn't realise we were driving back towards Sydney!! What tools! It was a long drive. It is crazy how we jumped into Autumn! From one day to the next, leaves were falling down and covering the trees with a wonderful shades of red and orange. canberra

Even if the capital does not look great, there are still a a few things to visit. Canberra became the capital of Australia because Sydney and Melbourne could not find an agreement: they both wanted to be the one! We took a tour of the old parliament, which was used until the late 80's. It was very interesting: loved the kitsch style of the rooms!! There is a park outside where protesters are allowed to stay if they have a complain. A few tents were outside protesting for the respect of the Aboriginals land. We visited the museum of Australia. It was good because we finally got more insight about the journey of the Aborigines. We finished the day by watching sunset at the Tesltra tower, which gives a 360 degree view of the city.

One thing: in restaurant, you can bring your own wine!! If  the restaurant is not licensed, bring your booze. Some might charge you around 3 AUS dollars per head!! Crazy!
