We cycled all around the city and the sea shore, stopped in the oldest part of town to see the lighthouse and the handcraft market. Many fishermen were coming back from sea with loads of fishes and other shells. We waited for while to see the sunset (it is far less quick than in Guatemala where we barely had the time to take out the camera!!) . We decided to continue a little bit further.
When we stopped on the beach, someone came over and asked us if we stayed at la Lomita. It was the owner, Rodrigo with another English couple, Liz and Tim. He recognized us by the map they give at the B and B. We stopped to get some food at the supermarket. Punta is quite pricey. When we got out, we saw lovely puppies in the window. Probably for Xmas. And the poor ones will be found on the side of the road at the next school holidays. Then , I tried to unlock my bike and my key broke in the lock. Damn. Fortunately, one of the guards went to get a saw and released the bike! I wonder what the cycle rental is gonna say about that.
Later we all stayed outside on the terrace, chatting. We stayed until 5.30am with Liz and Tim drinking Pisco and whisky and having a great laugh.
The next morning, well afternoon, we were all quite hungover. We took it really easy, just chilling on the beach with a book. Sun is quite hot now but the ocean is still quite cold. Sean went swimming anyway but he said the currents were really strong. In the evening, Rodrigo organised a big BBQ for everyone. The meat was delicious. He made us taste some kind of local black pudding which had loads of spices. It was yummy, it tasted like Xmas. We went to bed a bit earlier, 2.30am, and drank far less. We had a great time in Punta and really regret having to leave
