Just a really quick email to let you know that i am still alive! internet acess isnt too good here so ill do mybest to update you all when i move on to Rotorua tomrowow. Weather is amazing as ever! but will talk soon!

.....So Waitomo....came as a bit of a shock! no shop, or anything which isnt a problem as i came fully stocked with pasta:) you cant really call it a village really but it was very pretty countryside! a quiet little area to get away from all the night life of Paihia was quite nice. Spent a morning in the glow worm caves which was interesting, with various stalagmites all around. A short boat ride through the cave was like watching the stars.....but it was watching glow worms! it was quite amazing, but no photos were allowed so you might just have to imagine this bit........I did a cave combo tour, and visited another cave called the Aranui Cave which is known for its rock formations rather than haveing glow worms, that too was fascinating!
Then, in the afternooon, i took a 1and a half hour horse trek over the countryside, now this i enjoyed a lot more than caving! it was such a beautiful day and to me, i thinki d rather spend it outside than in a cave, but it was fun all the same! I had my own private trek as it was only me booked on! You could see for miles, and miles and it was jsut amazing to be somewhere so quite and remote! Also, the place running the treks ran a small farm of various animals, including the native New Zealand owl, the Morepork which was soo cute!!
Ill upload some pics soon!
But that was my only full day in Waitomo, and probably enough time there i think! it wasnt worth missing, it was quite a cute little place..
Hopefully the photos will follow!
lots of love
