We spent some time using the Internet in the morning before heading over to Golden Sands 3 to get the shuttle bus to the beach. A few hilarious moments when we were all giggling at some guy with his fly down, then realised Mike's was undone as well.
The shuttle bus dropped us at Jumeirah Beach Park which is one of the few available to the local public but at a charge. We tossed up whether to get a public bus to the Mall of the Emirates but decided to just get a taxi. On the way, Mike asked the driver to take us for a drive out to the Palm Jumeirah, the devlopment shaped like a palm tree. Along the way we got out first glimpse of the massive Burj Al Arab building. We certainly were seeing a different side of Dubai now with the huge houses, villas and multi-storey apartment complexes. There is a tunnel also out on the Palm leading to the newly opened Atlantis resort
Once at the Mall, we made a beeline for Ski Dubai - Adrian was determined to snowboard all day. We left him there and the girls headed off to shop. Mike and I wandered up to the viewing area to try and spot Adrian. The place is just amazing, a massive slope complete with chairlift and a special snow park areas with toboggans, ice sculptures and rides. We went and had something to eat and drink then spent the rest of the day wandering around the shops. Even though it is supposedly the Shopping Festival I still think that things are quite expensive. So we didn't really buy anything - just window shopped. Finally the girls surfaced (they had only been on the first level) and went in for some snowboarding. We minded their bags and sat upstairs in the food court area. Occasionally I went to the viewing area but couldn't really spot them. At 5:30 we headed back down to collect them. Ange didn't have much luck and didn't stay in there too long, but Alanna went down the slopes quite a few times. Headed out of the Mall and got a taxi back to out apartment. This time we drove along Sheikh Zayed Road where a lot of the huge buildings are including the massive Burj Dubay, over a kilometre high. We were all looking out the windows, taking pics. Back at the apartment for a quick snack and rest before heading out to check out the night markets. They were pretty disappointing but we did buy a caftan for Mike's mum and a fez for his dad. It was nice to see the creek at night with all the boats lit up. We had a ride on the Ferris Wheel then as we were walking back there was fireworks back at the creek which we stopped to look at. Called in at Bur Juman mall for a bite to eat before staggering home (so tired) and off to bed.

. We had a drive right around the edge of this and stopped for a few photos before heading back and getting dropped at the Mall. The taxi driver was delighted to get a 50dhs tip.Once at the Mall, we made a beeline for Ski Dubai - Adrian was determined to snowboard all day. We left him there and the girls headed off to shop.
