We left Paducah at 8:30 and arrived in St. Joseph, MO after making a stop in St. Louis to see the Gateway Arch and Mississippi Riverfront.
Gateway Arch
There was a statute commemorating where Louis and Clark landed on their return from their expedition.

St. Joe turned out to be a really cool and very old town. Situated on the banks of the Missouri River, it has an historic but tattered downtown. We toured the Glore Psychiatric Museum. They attempted to keep me, but I escaped.
Glore Museum ECT Room
The Museum showed how the mentally ill were treated before modern medicine. They were caged in coffin like devices and made to run on enclosed wheels.

One woman swallowed about a thousand nails and screws. She died after surgery. Next we stopped at the Pony Express Museum which was closed.

We also stopped at Krug Park, which has an unfinished castle and unique rolling terrain.

Glore Museum
I can't even begin to comprehend how horrible it must have been to be placed in that coffin cage.
Can you imagine if an individual was claustrophobic or suffered from anxiey? After being placed in that thing...there would be no question that they would definitely become mentally ill. How awful!!!!
Enjoy the rest of your trip.
