Tuesday was a busy day at sea. Patty took the kitchen tour, an acupuncture seminar, and a water color class. I have no need for any of those skills. We both attended the Art Auction. Naomi, the Art Director, is very helpful (she is also very intelligent) and has taught me a lot about art. I plan to attend all of her presentations, in the interest of cultural education of course. During the auction, I bid on a lithograph by Anatole Krasnyansky titled the Streets of Prague, but Naomi likes me and said that I could just have it for free - plus shipping. Is that a great country or what?
Art Work
In the evening, we did 3 events; at 7 pm the movie Mama Mia again; and then at 9 pm we attended the Zaandam singers and dancers performance; at 11 pm we watched the Indonesian crew put on a really interesting performance of songs and dances of Indonesia.
Performers
I am not saying that this is an old crowd, but after the Indonesian show, we ate a late snack with another couple who told us that the night before, during the Zaandam's early New Years Celebration, that they were kicked out of the Crow's Nest lounge before midnight. They were the last couple awake on board. (This is a true story.) We were going to attend but changed out of our formal wear early and you have to stay dressed up on formal nights. Tomorrow we dock in Hilo and are going on a 6 hour hike to the summit of Mount Kilauea volcano. I sure hope Patty does not fall in. Apparently, one tourist must be sacrificed each day to satisfy the lava gods.
