Gina dropped me off at Copa air, but when I tried to check in they told me I had to go to Continental. Luckily there werenīt any lines and they did in fact have my reservation. Got to my gate by 11:15pm - one hour before boarding was slated to begin.
I havenīt taken a flight with assigned seating since my NYC trip in 2007. Itīs kind of nice having the option to move on Southwest if youīd like to. Now all I could think of while waiting was who I was going to be sitting next to. Would it be the lady who apparently hasnīt flown in 26 years and tried to bring too many bags and a bunch of liquids and is now eating some smelly food (oh, and sheīs wearing gladiator sandals with socks. Hmmm). Or would it be the family of like 20 including a screaming baby? I was really hoping it'd be the lady zonked out across 3 seats in front of me because hopefully she wouldn't be a talker -- but she could be a snorer. Maybe I don't need lotto luck, but plane neighbor luck. Only 45 minutes until I find out.....tick, tock.
And the plane neighbor was -- the man with too much cologne AND I had a middle seat. What was I thinking? I donīt remember booking that.
Flight to Houston went reasonably quick. The fact that we were 20 minutes early didn't hurt. Arrived at 5:30am. Grabbed breakfast at none other than jacked-up-airport-priced Starbucks. And why don't they ever have healthy food options? I guess it beat Wendy's though, which was the only other place open.
