This weekend was rather fun. Saturday night we all went out to a place called Yu Yuan, or Yu Park. This is a very old part of Shanghai where the richest families donated their very old houses to the area, so they are all beautifully lit up. At this place, we went to a restaurant on recommendation of on of my classmates. The dinner was solely comprised of baozi, which I am sure you've seen on the travel channel. THey look kind of like dumplings but they are rounder and open at the top. They inside has a bit of meat and also a bit of hot soup so you have to be very careful eating it, you can't just bite right in and you can't let the juices out. They were delicious. After that, we shopped around the area where there is good bargaining territory. I didn't find anything particularly to my liking, but i think i will go back and maybe pick up a new scarf.

After a while it started raining, and we were all in a mad frenzy to catch cabs, which took a very long time. When my cab arrived back, we decided that the baozi's weren't filling enough so we stopped by a noodle place next to the school's back gate and had a bite to eat. By then, most of the others had returned, and we basically hung out around the dorm til morning. On Sunday I was able to sleep in late (thank goodness) but had to write a big essay and review a lesson for Monday, so I had my work cut out for me. Today was business as usual- we switched up classmates, which is fun. In just a bit I have my one-on-one with a teacher, and until then I'll try to get tonights homework done. Enjoy the pictures!
