Due to a bust up with the rip-off merchants at the Lakshmi Guest House (trebled their rates, breakfast not included, added tax on everything, no refunds - Lonely Planet recommended my arse!) Sarath from The McLeod Inn arranged for Groundsman Simon and myself to have breakfast each morning at his friend's house lower down the hill. Top man. Don't know his name but every morning he cooked us fried eggs on toast, made a cracking pot of tea and was always willing to offer a banana or three. All for the princely sum of 200 rupees (90 pence).

Oh and this was his kitchen!!!
