! We took this little track into the Bindarri National Park where its was unreal scenery, so lush and green with these amazing palms, tall wood trees and a beautiful rocky river that was crystal clear, it really was paradise. After 5 min we came to our first river crossing, mind you it wasn't very big but hey ya gotta start somewhere right =) We soon discover that it was a no through road tho we found a wicked picnic area and swimming holes that would be unreal on a summers day. We headed back not far up the track to pine track where we started climbing up and up, i couldn't stop saying wow the whole time, with the amazing place we where in, stunning greenery of the jungle and the view of the mountains. After a few hours we found some water falls called Bangalor Falls, it was getting dark but we had come all this way we thought we better make the 1.3k walk down to have a look tho it was almost a run cos i didn't want to get stuck in there in the bloody dark. After hear we headed to the near by main road well i wouldn't call it main.... i reckon the 4WD tracks we had been on all day where better and a hell of a lot safer! We took the 35km drive that took us a crazy hour in the dark along this road from Ulong to Dorrigo to find some where to camp and all i can say is I'm probably glad it was dark!! We got to Dorrigo set up camp, crawled into bed and just as it started to rain we planned our 4WD trip for the next day, i was so excited to get back out there and have some more fun but the rain had other ideas about that
. We woke up at 11:00pm to maddison not a happy camper as she was coming down with a flu (oh fun) but thank god she woke us as the camper was leaking!! We where camped up hill a little and it had caused the roof to sag and create a pool of water that was now leaking through, oh fun! The next morning a bloke told us that coffs had about 85mil of rain last night and he wouldn't advise going 4WDing with a camper on, i was so pissed its all i wanted to do and the bloody rain had set in and was gonna hang around for a few days i was spewing. So with not much to do and drowned like rats we thought we will keep heading north, we got as far as Bundjalung National Park about 40ks south of Bellina. Nice camp grounds I'm sure when its dry, we had another wet and windy night as well as a little visiter as i was making a cuppa before bed, this little well BIG rat like thing the size of a football founds its way under the annex wall and sort out the rubbish bin. It didn't even care i was there until i started to call darren well... maybe shout or even a small little wee bit of a scream so he could come see it but he thought i was being stupid, missed it and it found its way out again with a small tap up the bum from my foot! I have no idea what it was it really looked like a rat on steroids lol. So that brings us to today. We packed up this morning still bloody raining mind you its warm even tho the weather is shit if it was back home it would be bloody freezing to go with it! We headed to Byron Bay. We well I didn't do much today decided it was time for a do nothing day so this afternoon Maddison and i had a little snooze
! The camper has been unreal not much to complain about on it just that yes you should water proof the canvas before you go anywhere in it, which I'm sure it is now well water proofed after the drowning it has had in the last 3 days well it will be once it drys!! But it has been very easy to live out of with plenty of storage and lots of little useful things like a cigaret plug so we can charge our phones, couldn't believe it when we found that nifty little feature. We are going to hang around here for a few days and check the place out as it looks like a awesome little town. Darren as he does hot footed it straight to the real estate when we got here to find you can't buy nothing much for under $2million!!!!!!! even a shit 2 bed room place is about $500,000 if you want a 4 bedroom house nothing flash your looking at $3mil. The bloke was like i have a bargain of a block, its half an acre and yes it too was over $500,000 just for a block!!!!! "bargain" he said, sold one for $750,000 last week! yep keep dreaming Darren keep dreaming.
Been unable to post for a few days as the lap top was flat gotta hate technology! We left Port Maquarie on Monday and headed to Coffs Harbour. I was surprisingly disappointed in the town of Coffs, I thought it was going to be a much nicer and pretty town cant say id stop there again unless we needed to. About the only thing that was impressive about the town was their massive jetty. We stayed at the Harbour City Caravan park, it was a nice little park with lots of wild life including a group of well fed fat ducks that love to waddle around conning all the campers to feed them. As we did, Maddison and Charlotte loved feeding them the stale loaf of bread. The park is right on the highway mind you so there was not a lot of sleep happening that night. The next day we headed for the hills as we had heard there was a million 4WD tracks around coffs but before we did we had to make one tourist stop...... couldn't go pass the Big Banana with out a photo lol! We headed out of coffs toward Karangi and turned down dairyville rd that took us to paradise. Finally off the bloody highways and out of the bloody small cites and what we came for, some 4WD action
