Today was the day I fly to
Jakarta, I was mainly killing time before my flight, I called James and wished him a happy birthday, best wishes and spoke to Helen and Rebecca. I got the MRT to the Changi Airport and took off at 5:20pm and arrived in Jakarta at 5:50pm (local time) and took a Damri bus to Gambir station near where I was staying tonight. It was pretty intimidating getting off the bus as taxi driver bombarded me with requests to use their taxis, luckily the very nice lady I was speaking to on the bus offered me a lift to the place where all the backpackers where staying in
Jakarta. I trusted the lady as she seemed quite well off and no need to take advantage of me, so her and her kind husband dropped me offf at the Jalan Jaksa area, here I managed to get a dorm room for 25,000rupiah, about one pound sixty pence!! The place wasn't exactly the ritz, but it felt safe and the staff were friendly. In my dorm I met Neil from Dublin and Frederik from France. Although they were moving on tommorow, although it was nice to speak to people who speak english. In the evening i used my mosquito net for the first time and sweated under the humidity!!
