Happy Birthday to me!!! Today I felt slightly sad about missing my friends, but I had a plan. To partly achieve one of my ambitions of going to all four tennis grandslam stadiums. I had been to Wimbledon and now I was heading to the Rod Laver Arena, home of the Australia Open Tennis tournament for a guided tour!!! As I entered the stadium grounds, I got really excited and happy, I love tennis so much and it was great to be walking around the grounds of one of the four great tennis tournaments. I walked around the outside courts and then walked past the head statues of the past champions, reading them and taking great interest (As i love the history and facts and statistics behind tennis). I then booked up a tour around the stadium and inside the Rod Laver Arena, only $9, amazing value for an hour tour!! I dossed around some more until the tour began. When the tour finally started me and a small group of people were shown around the arena by our guide. She was really knowledgable and informative and me being a fanatic asked here many questions and got some really interesting answers. First off we got to go to the locker rooms and hear about the stories and how players prepare for matches, we got to see which Locker Federer has (he is always offered locker M1), as well as Nadal (M16) and Murrays (M39) locker. Then We got to go past a hallway filled with posters of all the past champions and hear about the best champions and the most famous stories. We were guided to the trophy room, to see the actual Australian Open trophy. All the time I was taking zillions of photos, we then got to step onto court 1 and were told about the capacity and surface of the court. Other highlights included seeing the Davis cup room, with an honours board and we went to the press conference room, where the players make their speeches after matches. I got to sit on the chair and pretend i was Federer or something, haha. The highlight though was seeing the Rod Laver Arena, it was great, it was so big, I was quite surprised. Even though there was construction work going on there it still had great presence and quite atmospheric, I can imagine it must be amazing when the roof is down and the court is full. I came away from this 80 minutes of delight, really happy, a great birthday present for me and now only 2 more stadiums to visit, New York and Paris see you soon! After this I went around Melbourne went into a cool art gallery (the building looked like the glass had shattered, a cool effect) and walked around town. In the evening I chilled out and didn't get up to much, apart from calling home and chatting to you guys, which was great to hear from you and I really appreciate your support and am glad everyone is well.

Great results Katie, I'm sure you will get double AA for your next year, im proud of you. Hi Ruby Lee misses you and hopes you are enjoying the summer and getting lots of nice presents from daddy and Anna. Love you Nan and Grandad and I look forward to hitching a lift on your buggy grandad, lol (make sure he doesn't drive to recklessly nan :)).
