! After finally escaping from the Jungle I arrived in Radical Bay via Florence Bay, both were beautiful (and near identical) areas with rocky, lush, green-covered cliff faces surrounding the immaculate beaches. I refuelled my body with fish and chips in Horseshoe Bay and then went back to Geofrrey Bay tp see the wallabies near sunset, when more are supposed to come out. As the sun began to set and the the sky turned a tangerine colour the wallabies were out in full force, i spotted about 20 of them!!! A local who has been feeding them for the last 10 years was there, explaining how to feed them from the rightside with your right hand. I headed back to the hostel. I met Edwina (from Newcastle) , Will (from Munich), Paul and Rebecca (from Glasgow). Rebecca showed me a cool few new dance moves to add to my roster (yeah right :)) I enjoyed hearing everyones stories, everyone was really nice. It would have been a good group but unfortunately only Will and I were on the Greyhound bus heading to Cairns tommorow.
An action packed day today as It was my last day on Maggie Island. First off I headed to Geoffrey Bay to spot the Wild Wallabies. I went to the large rocky area where I saw several wallabies. They are such funny creatures, they hop around like Kangaroos and are really curious animals. I held out my hand with the feed I bought from the shop and they came up to me and at out my hand!!! It was amazing how tame they were, I was able to feed several of them and even stroke a couple (they were quite soft, like a dogs fur). However they got scared if you make sudden movements, i also thought it was funny how they scrapped with each other over food, bouncing around the rocks, chasing each other. At one point I recorded a wallaby and it stared at my camera with curiousity, whilst chomping on some feed. They are marvellous creatures, after feeding several of the wild wallabies I headed to Forts Walk on the bus. I decided to walk to Horseshoe Bay taking in the Scenary of Radical Bay and Florence Bay, two of most picturesque bays within Magnetic Island, although it didn't quite happen so smoothly, with me getting lost several times, going in the opposite direction and being exhausted from the powerful sun and no shade!
