If travelling to Laos avoid the Vannasone Guest house! What turned out initially to be a lovely guesthouse descended into chaos as they tried to rip us off left right and center! First they managed to lose half my washing then rip us off royally on the cost of the room, making out that $15 he first quoted was infact $50. We refused to pay and things got fairly heated as the retard was trying to get as much money off us as possible. That is one draw back of coming to a less developed country, everyone thinks you are a walking cash machine and can shaft you whenever they please. You constantly have to question how much they have given you and then it's "oh solly" and give you the rest of your money. With regards to the guesthouse we only ended up giving them a bit more money on top. I would have happily stuck to my guns, if we didn't have to get to the bus station and get our bus to Vang Vieng!

Our bus was a VIP bus, so pretty much a standard coach by English standards. The journey was along some serious windy roads but as it was through the mountain it was an amazing view. Some people didn't appreciate it as they were too busy being sick in the toilet with all the windiness of the road! Luckily Rumit was feeling better so he only looked like death warmed up rather than death.

We arrived at Vang Vieng and if we thought Luang Prabang was small we should have seen V V. It's tiny, probably what most places in Laos were like 10 years ago! The main reason most people come to VV is for the tubing and rock climbing. Is i can't do the latter we decided to go tubing tomorrow as the weather today was fairly cloudy as it had been most of the time in Luang Prabang. We decided to chill out in the Sanasay restuarant and watch a bit of Friends with was playing all day. It was really nice just to sit and relax. The food was good too and we all enjoyed the much needed rest.

Afterwards we decided that we should have a look around town, which was fairly easy bearing in mind how small it was and we decended onto a bar in one of the side streets. It had a great atmosphere and we ended up meeting a French couple called Marie Ann and Julian. After a few games of pool, some more food and socialising we decided to make a move back to our bungalow. We decided to rent out a bungalow between the three of us as it worked out at around 6 pound per person for 2 nights! It was perfect apart from the cockeral that woke up Minal and Rumit every morning. I was too knackered to even notice!
