Nov. 24th, Fall at Lake Isabella:   We left Jan and Dave's with Jan.  Dave went on to work and is meeting us at  Lake Isabella.  We had a nice trip in the motor home and drank Bloody Mary's on the road.  Don't worry, you can do that in a motor home and Kaptain drank virgin Mary's (no alcohol).  Laurie and Larry greeted us and Larry helped Kaptain get our motor home into their driveway.  We noticed the tree in the front yard was losing its leaves.  We could even stand next to the front yard and literally hear fall.

Nov. 25th, Thanksgiving Day:  We got up and had beautiful weather for our Thanksgiving Day.  It was warm in the sun and cool in the shade.  Before the game, we sat in the sun and enjoyed the warmth and the view of the local mountains.  Later, the football fans watched the game outside on the TV on our motor home.  We had a beautiful day and had a feast with enough food to feed 66 people, instead of 6.  We had turkey AND quail.  The quail that Larry had shot recently when hunting.  It was all DELISH!!

Nov. 26th, Shooting, The "Secret Place" and A Warm Fire:  On Friday, we decided to go shooting.  We went out to the middle of the bleepin' desert and shot our guns.  We also shot a bow and arrows.   I had never done this.  (Or, I vaguely remember doing it when I was a kid).  Larry had some bows and arrows and was very patient with showing me how to aim and shoot.  I actually loved it.  We all had a chance at shooting the bow and arrows and Laurie got very excited when she hit the target.

Laurie had mentioned that we should all go to a "Secret Place" she and Larry had found.  We grabbed some drinks and snacks and they took us to a place by the Kern River that was absolutely the best place for Happy Hour.

When we got back to their house, Larry built us a nice warm fire, we put on cozy, comfortable clothes and ate Thanksgiving leftovers.  Sometimes the food the day after Thanksgiving is better than the food on the day itself.  In this case, it was great BOTH days.

Nov. 27th, Christmas Parade:  Saturday, we went downtown and saw the Christmas Parade.  We parked in the parking lot of the "Dam Korner"...that's really the name of it.  We lined up our chairs along the parade route and watched the parade.  We had a ball.  One thing I HAD to do while we were at the Parade.  Santa and Mrs. Claus went by and asked if we had been good.  Of course, I couldn't lie and I HAD to tell them that Laurie had NOT been good this year.  Sorry, Laurie, but I couldn't lie to Santa Claus.

Home again....almost:  On Sunday, there were high wind warnings on the freeways we had to take to get back to Menifee.   We decided to stay back at Isabella and monitor the weather while everyone else went home.  We asked Jan & Dave and Laurie & Larry to let us know how much wind there is on the road as they drive home.  Jan called us and told us the road seemed fine.  We hit the road (we were lonely there all by ourselves, anyway) and got to Menifee just fine.
