On September 17th, we arrived in Bar Harbor. Beautiful tourist area. Bar Harbor Campground is very nice. The only problem is the site we chose was not level and sloped ALOT. We ended up finding another RV site and were able to level the motor home. Since we were now in Maine, we, of course, had to have Lobster dinner. So we all went on over to The Chart Room about five miles from where we were staying and had Lobster Dinner.
On Saturday, September 18th, we went into town in Bar Harbor shopping
While we were in town, we found a shop that had personalized Christmas decorations. We found some that had RV's on them. We each got a decoration that matched our RV (motor home or fifth wheel) and had them personalized to say "Fall Colors 2010". That way it will always remind us of our fabulous trip together. We had lunch in town (Lobster Rolls, of course). Then headed to the pier to go for a boat ride. We had reserved a boat tour of the lighthouses of Maine. We saw Great Duck Island Light, Winter Harbor Light, Egg Rock Lighthouse and Bear Island Light. We also saw more lobster traps than we have ever seen in one area in California. It was a beautiful day for a boat ride. It was supposed to last 2 3/4 hours and it was over three hours. Nobody seemed to mind (except for one more girl who was very seasick).
While we were staying at the campground, we had our first opportunity to see the sun come up over the ocean (instead of going down, which is what we see in California). I couldn't sleep one morning so I took some pictures of the sun coming up over the Atlantic.... cool!
On Sunday, September 19th, we left Bar Harbor Campground and headed for Kennebunkport, Maine.
