Sue picked me up from the 'Castaway Motel' at about 10:30 am and we
drove to Cedar for groceries and then to Ladysmith for lunch before
heading to their beautiful 'hobby farm' just outside Ladysmith. It is a
garden paradise - Vancouver Island is so much like New Zealand.
Sue and Robert have an organic farm and it must be such a big
job, considering they both still work full time in Victoria! They
grow raspberries, blueberries, several kinds of salad greens and peas,
apricots, carrots, beets, etc. We spent a couple of hours
picking, and Sue packages for sale. We barbecued that night and I
slept in the lovely guest cabin and Sue in their gazebo. It would
be a hard place to leave every Sunday to make the trip back to
Victoria to work!
