Anyway, Aust and NZ were good transition countries as they are so much like Canada so I have not experienced any culture shock; although it was strange hearing English and French on the Air Canada flight from San Francisco. Will be heading to Vancouver Island in a couple of days before I go to visit family in Sask.
Made it back to Canada safely and soundly at 5 p.m. last night after a 1.5 hour flight from Christchurch to AUckland, 12 hours (eased by watching 3 movies on the individual screens on the flight (Fracture, Blades of Glory and Perfect Strangers) from there to San Fran, 2.5 hours (watched Waitress) to Vancouver. Only glitch was that my bags didn't arrive in Vancouver from when I had to pick them up in San Francisco - a bit ironic as I never lost a bag on any other flight this year! But they were delivered this a.m. to my friend's place here in beautiful Coquitlam. My friend Barb was there to pick me up, and I was concerned as her cell phone number was in my checked luggage, I had no way of calling her to let her know that I was delayed due to having to complete paperwork re luggage. But we were a little early landing so it all worked out as I came out of Customs about on time. It was clear when I got my bags this a.m. that they had been openen by Customs. No jet lag so far! Very beautiful day in Vancouver, no wind, no rain and am enjoying Barb and Joe's beautiful deck with a view of Burrard Inlet!
