Crossing over into Bolivia it intially seemed much flasher in terms of houses at least along the Lake.  In Peru people donīt pay taxes on their houses if they are not finished, hence no one finishes their house and the whole country looks like its a building site - doesnīt make for the most attractive cities.  Peru also seems to like lots and lots of glass windows, but with no frames, just sheets of glass with hinges bolted on to allow a window, very strange!!  The houses on the Bolivian side of Lake Titacaca seemed more western, often 2 storeys with terraces and even sloping roofs instead of the flat roofs of Peru.  Hoever, once we hit La Paz the houses returned to the more normal construction...ie half finished looking!!!
La Paz looks better from a distance, way too congested, footpaths barely fit one person never mind the thousnads trying to use them and the roads are a joke, taxis and minibuses (and not so mini buses!!) rule the roads, way too frantic a place.  To be fair though we were in the main downtown touristy area, and the area we had tea at did seem way calmer.
For our last supper as a group we went to a great Thai-Inidan-Chinese-Malaysian restuarant followed by Mongoes nightclub......although much beer was consumed and much dancing occurred their was no hangover in the morning, yipee!!!  It was sad to part ways with everyone although Ali was continuing to Bolivia so i was luckily keeping my Spanish interpretor!!!
It as then meet the new tour leader and group for the rest of our trip around Bolivia. All seemed good although with a mix of Scottish, Germans, Swiss, Kenyan and Australians and our new leader Suellen seemed the opposite of Mirko, hyperactive compared to the laid backness of Mirko!
