Udaipur is a gorgeous city in Southern Rajasthan with cute narrow lanes intertwining round every corner. After the mayhem of Pushkar it was a welcome break from the hustle and bustle and to be able to stroll freely and at ease was a treat!

We visited the City Palace - the biggest in Raj - and it was so pretty with intricate design features throughout. Through some of the open windows there were great extended views of the city. The Lake Pichola was the centrepiece to this romantic city and although staying in the uber-posh and expensive Lake Palace Hotel would have been delightful it was still pleasant to admire it from the lakeside with a cold drink in hand! Plus it was extremely outside our budget!

One afternoon we had a ride out on a boat round the lake to see the city from a different perspective. Udaipur sure was the ideal place to relax after Pushkar and although we didn't do a great deal while we were here, it was good just to sit and take in such a pretty place!
