Tigre is a short 1 hr train ride to the north of Buenos Aires. We are quickly learning that this form of transport is very inexpensive, less than $1 USD for a roundtrip ticket.

We quickly learned that perhaps this particular Monday might not have been the best day to visit Tigre, for it was the celebration of ¨Student Day.¨ The streets were packed from sidewalk to sidewalk (and in between) of students of all ages who come from neighboring cities to enjoy the fun in the sun. All types were enjoying local singing along the shores of the Rio Tigre, playing fubol in the street or simply laying back and enjoying one another.

We strolled up and down the banks of Rio Tigre in search of our favorite lunch special - empanadas! Don´t be fooled by the sounds of a river stroll... the water was quite dirty, yet the experience was quite enjoyable.

After returning from Tigre to Buenos Aires, we met up with our friends from CHR Buenos Aires - Javier and Nadia! Apparently it was 2 for 1 Corona night and celebration of the Corona. It was a very pleasant evening of stories, travel advice, and many many laughs. We had such a wonderful time with them, it was very nice to have such wonderful hospitality while visiting their city. Matias, we missed you last night!

On our way home strolling down Av. Florida, we were able to catch one last glimpse of a Tango Negro street show. This was by far the best yet!
