So I have reached the end of the staff week on camp and it has been fun! I have done things that I never thought I would/could never do. For example I ran through fire, and put it out with a fire extinguisher - both a lot more fun that they sound - and moving beds, cleaning out rooms that haven't seen the light of day for over a year, and picked up a dead mouse, not as bad as working with asbestos but close! I continue making new friends and learning more about leading camp in America, for example we had someone from the insurance company to stop people suing us! Also we have been warned about bears coming on to camp, what to do with ticks, and mosquitos...fun.  We have our first set of campers with us already - they are a special group of teenagers who run their youth groups in their region at home and have come to our camp to bond and get to know each other, some of these will stay and others will go back to their homes. Officially camp starts on Tuesday and we have about 187 participants and we are all getting excited about their arrival. I am going post some photos up so you can see what it is like here, I will also put them on Facebook. As you may be able to tell we laughed a lot!!
