arrived to find that leahs first foray into booking the accom was slightly off as we were not booked in for the 16th our booking started from the 17th. they had a room anyway.
first thing the next day we were off to find amelies cafe which is quite near where we stayed in montemarte. not all that impressive or similar to in the movie. then walked up to the top pf sacre cuer and sat for about 20 mins watching what some people will do for a photo. the was a guy who lay in the dirt for about 10 mins setting up his camera and telling his girlfriend where to move to before hitting the timer button and running up to get in the photo. after he walked over and picked it up only to find it was a dud! so down he went again for another 5 mins before coming away with what was obviously the perfect shot. as you can probably tell by our photos we are much more piont and click type people.
we then went out to the cimetiere du pere lachaise where we saw the resting places of jim morrison, oscar wilde, fred chopin, edith piaf and others. Amazing cemetery (gran would have loved it), very grand, though jims was quite underwhelming after so many people talked about it. had another attempt at a picnic under the eiffel tower but it started to rain just as we got there. so microwave meals at home for us. 18th climbed the eiffel tower, good views of the city but quite crowded. used our picnic stuff in front of the sacre coeur 19th went for a big walk around the city again that night went up to sacre coeur, also the place du terte (where the artists hang out)
and watched an awesome busker singing on the steps near sacre coeur. had one last crepe and headed home More thumbnails ...
