One thing we didnt count on was that we planned on leaving Iona on Sunday in the middle of winter which meant there was only one ferry at 2:30. Killed some time by checking out the Abbey and Nunnery, which were built in the 1200s. We then went for a little walk and followed the road all the way to the other side of the island which turned out to end at a golf course. It olnly I had my clubs in my backpack! There were no shops open on the island (shock - horror!) except a gift shop at the abbey, so after a tasty lunch of tea and christian biscuits, we went to catch the ferry - only to see it leaving the dock! After a panic, we found out it was making 2 runs that day because it was busier than usual - phew!
We drove onto the ferry which would take us back to the main land and unfortunately we had to speed through lots of cute little towns and ended up making it to Tyndrum to have another go in the Wigwams - fun central!
