Short blog today - it's late, and we're tired. :o)

Today's excursion began with a trip to the Chianti region.  On the way, the bus stopped at the memorial and cemetary for U.S. soldiers lost in WWII.  It was very moving.

The bus dropped us about 2 miles from our next destination for a nice (though VERY hilly) walk through the Tuscan countryside to a winery and castle - La Bottega del Palagio.  We had a tour of the castle and the wine cellar (formerly the castle dungeon).  Later, we had a fantastic light lunch of bread and cheese, bruschetta, and pasta that included a wine tasting paired with each followed by a biscotti and dessert wine.

We then went to Vinci - home of Leonardo, where we saw the home he grew up in.  We took another nice walk through the olive groves into town to visit a museum of Leonardo's works.

This evening the full group had dinner at a wonderful restaurant in Montecatini.  This is our last night here.  We leave tomorrow for Sienna.  Don't know if we'll have computer access, but we'll blog if we can.

wine walking and more wine.....
I think you guys should carry a bottle in your purse, you could be drinking while walking to all these great places, its a thought! becca hope your new camera is getting some action, I want you to be able to tell me everything when you get back, and I hope you figured out how to get as much wine back over here as you can! I wish you could bring food too!
