We drove into Fussen for a quick lunch. We ended up eating at a fast food German place where we sort of just pointed to order. Not our best meal, but we all tried lots of different things which was fun. We did lots of food sharing on this trip!
Then, we headed out to the Neuschwenstein Schloss ( Noyvanstien Castle ) which is the castle that Walt Disney used as a starting point for the Sleeping Beauty Castle . We took a bus up to the castle for our tour. Yes, it was rainy again...so we stood under the entrance to stay dry and wait for our 30 minute tour.
Jim did very well on the walk to the castle and back....it was a long ways AND there were lots of inclines and declines. He powered through it, just as a good McManigal will! Thanks Dad! Judy, you also never complained about the rain and your hair....you just kept going. Thanks Mama Shaffner!
Layton and Jana did walk to the suspension bridge that gave a great look of the castle. Layton had gone before the tour and when the sun came out, Jana and Layton went back again for better pics. It was totally worth the small effort! See for yourself in the pics!
JUDY'S ADDITIONS
Then we went to the castle of Neuschwenstein Castle at Fussen, Germany on the Romantic Road...such a beautiful place...we walked quite a way up and down inclines...it was kinda like a treadmill for my heart...such thumps of beats! The king only lived there for 172 days...such outstanding scenery in the Bavarian Alps!!

King Ludwig
My favorite castle in all the world! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it in person. It's so perfectly situated! (sigh)
