The drive from Austria back into Germany was amazing. The ladies in the back seat were snapping pics as we drove down these cute little country roads. We all wanted pictures of the green pastures, cows, hay stacks, signs, and anything else we could get our eyes on. It was so fun! We were having a really hard time getting a picture of the cows on the road...however, when we pulled up to the church there were cows (yes, Jim we know they were really heifers but sometimes we use the generic term) by the church. It was a huge church in the middle of no where close to a village called Steingaden. The inside was vast...wide open walls and ceiling areas. The surfaces were painted with elaborate fresco paintings in a rococo-baroque style which were pretty amazing. Finally, we bought a few souvenirs and used the WC before heading off to Fussen.
JUDY'S ADDITIONS
We saw a beautiful church east of Salzburg...so light white and the fresco drawings of various figures were done by Johoann Baptise Zimmerman...my favorite church...several cows were right by the fence as we walked to the church!! Great photo op!!
