We took a ferry from Patras to Bari, Italy so that we could catch ANOTHER ferry to Debrovnik. We were excited to add one more country to the trip, and maybe have some yummy "real" Italian food.

Our ferry ride was a fun experience. We ended up having to sleep on the floor which is what everyone does with a "deck" ticket. However, we were a little late getting on the ferry, so we camped out in another area until we got "kicked out" of the high society salon. So, we tried to sleep on the actual deck...yep, outside, on the second level of the ferry. After an hour of trying, we moved inside because of being cold and noise. Thankfully, we were able to find a slice in between a row of chairs that Layton could squeeze into sideways. Jana was able to slip under a row of chairs that made a "fort" for her for the night. We actually slept better than we thought we would, but very thankful to have found a place to rest our heads.

BARI...well, besides the stamp had not much to offer. Listen, we don't like to be negative about places but this place was DEAD! The locals being on their month long vacation caused MANY places to be CLOSED! Seriously, closed...and those things that were open had to have a break in the day between 1 pm and 5 pm we gotta pay how much to store bags

. We wandered for a good hour looking for a place to have lunch! What craziness. Yes, we had "italian pizza", but we will hold our judgement for when we go back to Italy!

We found a park to take a nice snooze and blow about 2 hours. We finally found a grocery store too that was open. We tried quite a few internet cafes but did not have any luck with them being open. Seriously, NOTHING was open.

Yes, we did have gelato too before getting on the next ferry. Guess what? We found a wireless connection there. Who knew!?

Again, we don't want to pass judgement on Italy yet...but those who have to go to Bari in August...BRING A GOOD BOOK! : < )
