We arrived at the old port and were able to walk to our hotel. We stayed in a downstairs apartment with four twin beds. Alex and Heather were great sports to just get in and stay in whatever worked. THANKS GUYS!

We just roamed around Mykonos town that evening. This place is hard to describe. There are very small streets, none big enough for cars, that just allow you to wander around and around and still not know where you are OR see the same thing over and over again. There were lots of boutique stores, chain stores and local eateries to look at. We decided that people either shop or party while they are at Mykonos because everyone has a shopping bag in their hands as they stroll around. We ended up at a nice Italian little restaurant where we had some non-Greek food.

The next day, we went to Paradise beach Layton waiting to leave Mykonos
Layton waiting to leave Mykonos
. This is PARTY central...for sure! We took a bus to the beach. We had to pay for an umbrella to hang out for the day, but we are glad we got there when we did because it got packed after about an hour of when we got there. Again, there was plenty of fun people watching to do....people like to wear ALL kinds of things here OR nothing at all! We spent the whole day just hanging out. Alex said the water was cold so the rest of us just chose not to jump in! Jana finally finished the Lord of the Rings (yes all 1008 pages!) Heather almost got through a book (she finished it that night.) Alex and Layton did a bit of leisure reading too! The sun was hot but the breeze made it nice..and in the shade it could even get cool at times. As we were leaving (6:15 pm) the party was picking up. All the beach bars were cranking up the music and had emcees standing on the bar to pump people up! Some of the outfits were a bit bizarre. One guy had on a gold lamae speedo (or something like that) and another one had on pearls and high heels. People like to have a good time here! That is fo' sure!

We had a great dinner on our second night in Mykonos. It was called Apaloosa. They had all kinds of foods and choices. We had sangria at the bar while we waited for a seat outside which was yummy. Then, we had two orders of fried rice, a nice salad and a chicken burrito. All were really good. We were secretly really proud of ourselves because we did not start dinner until 9:45 pm. How European of us!?

It is official. We like the Coconut Macadamia ice cream from Haagen Daz the best. We had just a "few" scoops while we were on Mykonos.

Our last morning we slept in and then had some crepes for lunch. Layton and Jana tried "savory" crepes for the first time...we are glad we tried them, but they are not anything that we are dying to have again.

RANDOM

We watch the Olympics whenever we can. They have it on most places so we have gotten to see lots of things...some we care about and some we don't.
