You can imagine that the mountains/hill provide lots of hikes and exploring...however, it was raining for most of our visit. We did get in a 2 hour walk, but we ended up napping through the sunny part of the visit! Oooops!
We did take a tour of the Peles Castle which was built in 1883 with 160 rooms. Our tour guide was very snippy and ready for her day to end, but the tour was definitely worth doing. The Pelisor Palace was smaller and not as "cool" looking so we decided not to pay to go in
Layton did try some bear meat! It was actually pretty tasty and well cooked...there was big debate whether it was REALLY bear meat or not, they did have other "game" type items on the menu so we think it actually was, but who cares? We will just say we have tried bear meat!
Jana found some great entertainment...little kids riding electric cars around the park fountain. The kids would pay for a ride around the fountain. The entertaining parts were watching the kids finagle money out of the adults, watching them choose which car (6 to choose from), how poorly some of the girls drove (sorry but true) and their ability to handle speed. This was great fun!
We found a new fav food. It is a Romanian chain of baked goods called FORNETTI. They have these flat breads that look like pizzas for only 3.00 Lei (about $2.00). We liked the bacon ones the best! YUM.
