Yes, it took us 3 FULL days and 4 nights to arrive on the train. We had to turn in our sheets around 2 am and we got off the train around 4:41 am (not that we were ready or anything.) We are both glad we took the Transiberian railway, but it was a long journey. The train stopped frequently enough to allow you to buy a few groceries and stretch your legs, but by the end of the journey we were setting alarms at 5 am to make sure we did not miss the longest stop of the day. We always enjoyed seeing what people sold along the platform. We saw cucumbers, tomatoes, strawberries, bread, ice cream, phone cards, and beer alcohol of course...just to name a few.

We mostly had our food supply from the beginning. We had noodles from China (that we found to be much better than the Russian/Mongolian version), peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, tangerines, cheese and cucumber sandwiches, instant coffee pouches (coffee, milk and sugar all in one our bottle of Vodka for the Vodka train
our bottle of Vodka for the Vodka train
. GENIUS!) We did pretty well. The new found instant food in Russia is instant potatoes in a bowl, just add water and there you have it! They were yummy. OH! Yes, we did partake in the "vodka" train which is a given nickname for the long journey. We had no idea what we were buying but we bought based off the bottle. Check it out in the pictures! It has a red star that was pretty cool. (If others ever do this ride, make sure to take a mug/cup to have coffee and tea in, as hot water is provided.)

We did read, cross stitch AND we had a Transiberian Olympics too for entertainment. We made up our own sports/disciplines like bowling, balance and others that did not end up happening. Our cabin was great thought with Jirina, Krish, Layton and Jana. We ended up with the "party" in our cabin most evenings! Good times.

BTW, we did change time zones 5 times on this train ride!
