    It was with some sadness I said good by to my precious Night Hawk.

     Night Hawk is a Cheoy Lee Newel 27.  She is a beautiful and classic boat with a pedigree.  She was on the cover of Nigel Calder's Cruising Florida.  I bought her to get some sailing experience and I did just exactly that. 

     This is a full ocean going boat with a full keel.  She is very small, though.  The past owner turned the forward berth into a head, as the cubby where the toilet was placed made for a tight fit!  Sleeping was tight.  A center piece is placed at the companion way which made it possible to sleep beam to beam.

     Unfortunately, Night Hawk needs a lot of maintenance to keep her ship shape and I just didn't have the time.  Besides, who needs two boats?  My main cruiser, a Tayana 37, La Vida Nueva, keeps me pretty busy.

   Night Hawk went to a new loving owner who says he will care for her.  He loves to do woodwork and his daughters want to learn how to sail.  How cool!
