Piolin's march on Washington is over now.  Things are getting back to normal.   Yesterday there was a demonstration for the children of immigrants who have suffered immeasurably as a result of our unjust laws.  They are in my prayers.

The Piolin camp insists I am a minute man.  They say my name appears on a list of 'known minutemen' and as such, I guess I am a persona non grata.  That is too bad because as I told the security man who asked me to leave the caravan, immigrants cannot have a better friend in the fight for basic human rights than me.

My contact in the Piolin camp has asked me to send some more information.  Maybe he can clear this up.  I am thinking about sending what I can.  I am traveling now, so it all gets more difficult.

It is time for all Americans who oppose injustice to call their congressman and ask the immigration bill be passed.  As I said to Piolin on the phone, I am ashamed of remaining silent for so long.  I sat on my hands out of fear of the minutemen and extremists in the country and did not speak out.

Sad to say, at this point the minutemen and their ilk have been winning.  They won when I was afraid to speak out and tell the immigrant side of the story for my fear of my fellow Americans.  The minutemen won again when the Piolin team threw a good friend off of their bus out of their fear I was an enemy and not a friend.

We are creating a new generation of second class people, who can't vote, can't get driver's licenses, pay into the government coffers but can't ask for fair tax treatment, who are afraid to call the police when threatened, whose children are in constant fear of losing a father or mother, and who can't have dreams like you and me.  We are creating a generation of immigrants who can't get basic medical treatment unless they are on their death bed.

Call your congressman and your senator, talk to your friends, help us pass rational immigration reform.
